Steamed Pork Ribs with Shrimp Sauce 咸蝦蒸排骨

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (0.5 kg) spare ribs or pork chops;
  • 2 teaspoons shrimp sauce;
  • 1 small piece ginger, peel and finely mince (about 1 tablespoon);
  • 4 cloves garlic, peel and finely mince (about 1/2 tablespoon);
  • A pinch of corn starch;
  • 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil;
  • 1 teaspoon cane sugar;
  • 2 - 3 spicy peppers, optional.

Recipe:

Serving for 2

  1. Cut spare ribs into 1” cubes;
  2. Wrap with paper towel if you want less sauce;
  3. Add a pinch of corn starch;
  4. Mix shrimp sauce, ginger, garlic and sugar;
  5. Add shrimp sauce mixture and spare ribs in a 1” deep bowl, leveled;
  6. Cut spicy peppers to small pieces;
  7. Add to spare ribs;
  8. Top with vegetable oil;
  9. Steam for 20 minutes, serve hot.
  10. Good with rice.
