Malaysian Style Fried Chinese Anchovy with Lemon 馬來西亞式炸鹽魚

Ingredients:

  • Chinese anchovy block, about 4” (10 cm) X 5” (12.5 cm);
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) vegetable oil;
  • 2 fresh lemon wedges.

Recipe:

Make about 30 pieces

  1. Cut Chinese anchovy into 3/4” (2 cm) square;
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a sauce pan/wok over medium heat;
  3. Add anchovy cubes;
  4. Take anchovy out when turn light golden brown;
  5. Place on paper towel to get rid of excess oil;
  6. Plate and serve with lemon wedges.
