Thai Style Spicy Beef Noodle Soup 泰式辣牛肉湯粉

Ingredients:

For noodle soup

  • 6 oz (186 g) flank steak;
  • 1 tablespoons Thai chilli paste, very spicy adjust accordingly, available in Asian supermarket;
  • 1/2 lb (250 g) fresh stick noodles or mi fun noodles (angle hair rice noodles);
  • 1/2 cup bean sprout or chopped romain lettuce;
  • 1 1/2 cups (360 ml) water;
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil;
    Cilentro leaves for decoration;
  • 1 teaspoon scallion;
  • Sea salt, adjust to taste.

For marinate

  • 1 teaspoon finely julienne ginger;
  • 1/4 teaspoon cornstarch;
  • 1/2 teaspoon liquid aminos;
  • 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil.

Recipe:

Serving for 2

  1. Cut flank steak into thin slices;
  2. Marinate, set aside;
  3. Put water in sauce pan over medium high heat;
  4. Add vegetable oil and sea salt when water comes to a boil;
  5. Add noodles and stir to avoid sticking together;
  6. Add bean sprout;
  7. Spoon in chilli paste, adjust according to taste, stir well;
  8. Put in flank steak after the chilli paste dissolves;
  9. It is done when flank steak turns color;
  10. Plate noodles on the bottom of a bowl;
  11. Spoon broth to cover noodles;
  12. Top with flank steak;
  13. Decorate with scallion and cilentro;
    Serve hot.
