Bake Asparagus with Cheese


  • 1 lb (0.5 kg) fresh white or green asparagus;
  • 1/2 cup garlic and butter bread crumb;
  • 1/2 cup coarsely grated Fontena cheese;
  • 1/2 cup coarsely grated Australian chedder cheese;
  • Sea salt.


Serving for 2

  1. Clean and peel the tough part of the asparagus;
  2. Place them in a baking pan;
  3. Scatter 3/4 of the bread crumb on the asparagus, and all of the coarsely grated Fontena and Australian chedder cheese;
  4. Place in an 325˚F (160˚C) pre-heated oven for 15 minutes or until the cheeses start to melt;
  5. Scatter the rest of the bread crumb and put it in the broiler for 2 minutes but keep an eye on it to avoid burning;
  6. Serve hot.
