Stir Fried Chinese Broccoli with Ginger and Wine 薑酒炒芥蘭

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (0.5 kg) Chinese broccoli (gai lan);
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil;
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt;
  • 1/2 tablespoon minced ginger;
  • 1/2 tablespoon Chinese rice wine.

Recipe:

Serving for 2 - 3 as a side dish

  1. Clean and cut Chinese broccoli to smaller pieces in a 30˚ angle;
  2. Add vegetable oil and salt to a sauté pan/wok over high heat;
  3. Add minced ginger;
  4. Let it cook until ginger becomes translucent;
  5. Add Chinese broccoli, stem first;
  6. Add Chinese wine, turn once in a while;
  7. Add a pinch of sugar and cover for a minute if you want it crispy;
  8. Plate and serve hot with oyster sauce, if desired.
