Hash Brown with Cheese

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (0.5 kg) frozen hash brown;
  • 1/2 tablespoon vegetable oil;
  • 1 tablespoon butter;
  • 8 - 10 slices, about 1” (2.5 cm) X 4” (10 cm), Havarti cheese or any mild easy melting cheese;
  • 1/4 cup finely grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese.

Recipe:

Serving for 2

  1. Add 1/2 tablespoon vegetable oil in a sauté pan;
  2. Spread frozen hash brown even on the bottom when it gets hot;
  3. Sauté until golden brown on both sides;
  4. Add 1 tablespoon butter;
  5. Top with slices of Havarti cheese;
  6. Place in the 350˚F (175˚C) pre-heated oven for 15 mintue or until cheese start to melt;
  7. Scatter grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese;
  8. Put it under the broiler for 2 minutes, keep an eye on it;
  9. Serve hot.
