Hong Kong Style Onion Pork Chops 香港式洋蔥豬扒
Ingredients:
For pork chops
- 5 pieces 1/2” (1 cm) thick pork chops, about 1 1/2 to 2 lb (0.75 - 1 kg), clean and pat dry;
- 1 tablespoon ginger juice;
- 1 tablespoon safflower oil (for high heat);
- 1 tablespoon liquid aminos/soy sauce;
- 1 tablespoon dark soy;
- Sea salt.
For onion mushroom sauce
- 1 1/2 large onions, thinly slice, about 2 cups;
- 3/4 lb (0.375 kg) oyster mushrooms or white button mushrooms;
- 1 tablespoon safflower oil (for high heat);
- 1 1/2 tablespoons ketchup;
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoon water.
For thickening sauce
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch;
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar;
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) water;
- 1 tablespoon liquid aminos/soy sauce;
- 1 tablespoon dark soy.
